Faithful Service and More Than Big Bear Hugs by Daniel Bowman, grandson

In my second year of college at BYU-I, Grandma and Grandpa got called to serve as Temple Workers for the baptismal font in the Idaho Falls.  They invited me to join them and would remember to call me and pick me up each time without fail. I learned from them that spring and summer the importance of being faithful in one's calling.

Growing up I often wondered if Grandpa's methods of showing affections were limited to giant squeezing bear hugs. And while I absolutely loved Grandpa's big squeezing hugs, I wondered if those were good enough for Grandma.  I wondered no more when they asked me to be a witness for the sealing ceremony of Grandpa to his parents.  I observed them at that time exchange a sweet embrace and a kiss, an activity I can't ever recalled witnessing prior to that point or anytime thereafter.  I learned in that moment how much Grandpa deeply cared for Grandma.
